Panaji: As Covid cases in Goa are gradually increasing again and with schools are set to reopen from Monday, chief minister Pramod Sawant said that schools will continue to function as usual for now. Further he said that the situation will be monitored over the next 10-15 days. Any decision will be taken according to the situation over the next couple of weeks, Sawant said. “Covid cases are rising. But tomorrow is the first day of school. We will observe the situation for another 10-15 days and monitor it and take a decision accordingly,” he said. During the first year of the pandemic, the schools in Goa could only begin the new academic year in the month of August due to the total lockdowns imposed. In 2021, the schools reopened for the new academic year on June 23, which was more than two weeks behind the usual schedule.
