Panaji: The Goa police and the narcotics control bureau (NCB) on Monday arrested a Britisher, a Russian and a Goan in three separate raids, and confiscated drugs worth over Rs 7 lakh. The NCB claimed that one of the foreigners was among the main drugs suppliers in Goa.The bureau, based on specific intelligence, intercepted a Russian woman called Ambika near Siolim, and found 50 pills of ecstasy weighing over 20g. During interrogation, she revealed the identity of the person who sold them to her, and the NCB conducted yet another raid and apprehended Jason Lee, a Britisher. A search of his house led to the discovery of 57 MDMA tablets weighing 24.1g, and other drugs, the total value of which is over Rs 4.5 lakh.“They were among the main drug suppliers in Goa. Further investigation is in progress,” NCB said. The bureau also said that Lee had lived in Goa for almost 20 years. NCB said that the Russian national too lived here for almost 15 years. Both were on the NCB’s radar for a while, and they were finally arrested on Monday.In another raid, Goa police received information that one person was likely to deliver a narcotic substance to a prospective customer. The crime branch tried to gather more information, and after identifying the person, placed him under surveillance. On confirming the information, they laid a trap to nab the peddler.Goa police said that a team led by PI Laxi Amonkar caught Clismon Pires, 20, who lives near Siridao, who was in possession of “greenish coloured flowering and fruiting tops” of a plant suspected to be ganja, in the storage space of his two-wheeler. The 2.06kg is estimated to be worth Rs 2 lakh, police said.
