Noida bungalow owner booked for assaulting minor boy who worked as domestic help

Gautam Buddha Nagar police registered an FIR Thursday against the owner of a bungalow in a posh area in Noida for allegedly assaulting, abusing and causing mental suffering to a minor boy who was working as a help in their house. The complainant, who is the boy’s uncle, also alleged that the owner did not pay him for many months and refused to let him visit his village because of which the boy missed his exams. The man added that the owner had falsely accused the minor of theft and handed him over to the police following which a case was registered in December last year. The latest FIR was filed on the orders of the area magistrate.“We are very poor and my relative was working as a cleaner… They had kept him on the pretext of helping him to study and promised that the boy would get Rs 7,000 per month as salary. My relative was working at that bungalow for the last two years and they have not paid him anything for around the last four months. They used to beat him for asking money,” said the victim’s uncle who is originally from Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district. He further said, “(They) used to get massages from him and tortured him a lot. My nephew is also studying. He had a Class 9 paper, but they forcibly cancelled his ticket. Due to this, he also missed his paper. The boy did not have money, so he asked the owners several times for money to go home, but they did not give it.”The police have registered a case under section 75 (punishment for cruelty to child) of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
