Panaji/Valpoi: On Thursday, chief minister Pramod Sawant said that there was no infighting between Valpoi MLA and health minister Vishwajit Rane, and him. The infighting rumours are being spread by opposition parties as elections are approaching, Sawant said while addressing BJP Valpoi karyakartas. “As elections draw closer, some parties keep on repeating certain things. You know what they are saying, that there is infighting between Vishwajit and me. These talks are created by the people, I am telling you so that you know there is no discord whatsoever between us. We are both one,” Sawant said at the meeting called for BJP national president J P Nadda’s interaction with karyakartas. Rane was seen tearing up during his speech. The health minister said he was getting emotional because he was thinking of his father Pratapsingh Rane, the Congress MLA from Poriem. “My father, who has taught me so much about politics and I am grateful to him. In the coming election, the BJP flag will fly high in both constituencies of Sattari for the first time in history. We want to win both seats for BJP in Sattari. And we are certain that then what is appropriate for Sattari will be done by the party,” Rane said. Criticising Aam Admi Party’s Arvind Kejriwal, Rane said that the Delhi CM was visiting Sattari, but would not be able to name even two persons from the taluka. “Another lady has come from West Bengal and is looking to buy people. In Sattari, our emotions are connected with the people. You cannot buy people here. People are self-respecting and sentimental. If we decide to bring BJP back to office, we will win the seats with leads unseen anywhere else in Goa,” Rane said. Hinting that the process of government recruitment will see youth from Sattari benefiting before the code of conduct is imposed, he said, “First I will give our youth employment, then I will contest elections.” Sawant said that Sattari has experienced what a double-engine government can do with Rane as MLA in Valpoi and with the BJP government in the state and at the Centre. “To achieve PM Narendra Modi’s dream, let the BJP lotus bloom in both constituencies of Sattari,” he said. BJP state president Sadanand Shet Tanawade said that both Satyavijay Naik and Vishwajit Krishnarao Rane, who have joined AAP in Sattari, will lose their deposit.
