A man was seen in a video beating up a woman and forcing her to get inside a car in the middle of a busy road in Delhi’s Mangolpuri area. The incident took place on Saturday night and the Delhi Police said they are investigating the matter.The police said they have traced the vehicle involved as well as the driver. The accused hasn’t been caught yet and no arrests have been made, they added.On Saturday, a man had uploaded the video asking authorities to help the woman.The purported video of the incident shows the man grabbing the woman by her clothes and dragging her towards the car. He then pushes her into sitting inside as she resists. After making her inside the car, he and his friend are also seen getting inside the vehicle.Harendra Singh, DCP (Outer), said the car was an Uber cab and a team was sent to Gurgaon’s Ratan Vihar to find the driver.“After finding the driver and the car, we found the men booked a cab through Uber from Rohini. Two men and the woman boarded the cab. During the trip, they got into an argument that turned into a scuffle. The video shows the man forcibly pushing the woman inside the car. We found that he did this as the woman wanted to leave after the scuffle.Further investigation is in progress,” said the DCP.Meanwhile, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) sent a notice to the Delhi Police demanding action in the case.Swati Maliwal, DCW Chief, posted a tweet saying “Taking cognisance of this viral video of the woman being forced into a vehicle and beaten up…I am issuing a notice to the Delhi Police. The commission will ensure strict action against these people”.
