DMK workers clash with I-T officials amid searches at premises linked to TN minister

A clash broke out between DMK workers and Income Tax officials after the department conducted searches at premises across Tamil Nadu allegedly linked to state Electricity Minister V Senthil Balaji, news agency PTI reported.The searches were being held in cities including Karur and Coimbatore, at the premises of individuals allegedly linked to the minister, PTI said, quoting sources.The clash broke out in Karur, when I-T officials came to search the premises of Balaji’s brother Ashok. Earlier last month, Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai released files detailing the properties owned by members of the DMK, which leads the alliance governing the state. In a statement, the company stated that all claims and allegations against it were false and baseless.
